Becker Nevus

Dear Dr. King
I am a 22 boy and just graduated. My budget is limited and i have already wasted a lot of money on my becker nevus, which is like 10cmx10cm size on my chest. It is a brown colour. I would like to know up till now, can the latest laser like Pico can treat it and lighten the colour of it? or else are there any other treatments that can remove it?
I have been very frustrated since i have not much money and this nevus makes me very depressed and even sometimes wanna committ suicide.
I just wanna know are they any economical treatments (not more than $5000 per month).

Dear Sir,
Becker Nevus is a common dermatoses that is benign and not palpable with only increased hair growth, increased coarse texture and pigmentation usually affecting the upper parts of the body. Young man or woman with this condition need not be discouraged or too significantly bothered by this condition for the reason that even without treatment, the negative effect on body appearance is minimal and one certainly should not feel depressed by this minor skin disorder.
Light treatment with lasers or intense pulsed treatment give mixed and variable results toward pigment reduction and there is no gurantee that 10 or more laser treatments will reduce the pigmentation or color by 50% or more. Total removal without scarring is very difficult.
You should have a consultation with a doctor first to review the risks, benefits, alternatives of treatments by lasers, lights or chemical peels etc.
