Tight phimosis may result in paraphimosis, obstruction to urine flow, recurrent infection of the genitalia and lower urinary tract, balanitis xerotica and carcinoma of the glans penis. Fertility is usually maintained unless erection and ejaculation are also impaired. Circumcision is indicated to prevent the above mentioned complications.
