The history is similar to a typical case of febrile convulsion, which, in the absence of family history of epilepsy or developmental delay, is essentially free of long term complication, unless the attacks are atypical : prolonged seizure more than 30 minutes; focal convulsion involving only one side or one limb; or very frequent attacks. Thus medications are usually not necessary.
The behaviour described by the mother could be temper tantrum, which is common in this age group. Detailed history of the development, cognitive function, as well as communicative function would be helpful. An EEG may help to rule out abnormal electrical activities suggestive of epilepsy.
