I have a bladder stone 3.1 cm * 1.7 cm * 2.1 cm. Transurethral cystolitholapaxy is widely used to treat bladder stone. Is it OK to use percutaneous suprapubic cystolitholapaxy instead? Using the transurethral cystolitholapaxy procedure carries a risk of damaging the urethra and prostate while percutaneous suprapubic cystolitholapaxy will not damage the urethra and prostate. Is it correct? I hope to use percutaneous suprapubic cystolitholapaxy if possible.
It is a known medical fact that taking out bladder stone through the urethra is a lot safer and more efficacious than through the percutaneous suprapubic route. The chance that the urethra is damaged during the operation is very very low.
