My dad is 94 years old and has COPD and severe asthma. He was hospitalized in Hong Kong for 40 days due to a pneumothorax (a large bulla and multiple small bullae). Talc pleurodesis was not performed.
He was discharged from the hospital on April 29 and has been advised not to fly back to San Francisco for one month, as stated in the hospital letter. He has a follow-up appointment scheduled for May 27 to evaluate his bullae.
In the meantime, he continues to have a persistent cough due to his severe asthma. Would you be able to help stabilize and manage his asthma prior to travel?
He normally receives Nucala (mepolizumab 100 mg/mL) in the United States, but it is not available at the general hospital in Hong Kong. Do you have access to this medication or an equivalent biologic treatment?
Currently, he is not on oxygen and is able to walk independently
