Blood in semen ( haemospermia).
Blood in urine ( haematuria).
The presentation suggested blood was from the prostate / seminal vesicles rather than from the urinary bladder and / or the kidneys. Though haemospermia is usually due to more benign conditions like infection or ruptured small blood vessels, a urological assessment is mandatory to rule out rare but more sinister ones. In this case, concern and action should prevail over worry and inaction.
