Drooping eyelids can be caused by many factors, such as ptosis or dermatochalasis. Dermatochalasis can often be corrected with resection of excess eyelid skin to improve its appearance. Ptosis, however, implies a compromised levator muscle function. The underlying cause, if any, should be determined before treatment can be performed. It is safest to seek specialist assessment first before deciding on surgery. Hope this helps.
