HPV test follow up question
Dear Doctors,
Thank you for your message. To follow up on my previous question. I am starting a relationship with my boy friend. It appears to me HPV is very ambiguous - some say testing is available, some say not. Some say HPV clears, some say HPV is chronic.
Bottom line, if a man ever has relationship, that means he should be a HPV carrier ? Since no approved test can find out ? or shld I wait 2 years before his last relationship, as CDC says 90% clears in 2 years ?

Thank you for your enquiry. There is no reliable test to rule out HPV infection. Diagnosis of HPV infection is made by clinical examination. Safe sex (eg condom use) is important in prevention of sexually transmitted infection.
